Content Archival Policy
As per the Guidelines for Indian Government Websites (GIGW), expired content shall not be displayed or remain accessible on the website beyond its validity period. Accordingly, this department has adopted the following Content Archival Policy.
All content published on the website shall carry a defined validity period. Upon expiry, such content will be removed from the main website. However, important and historically significant information may be shifted to the Archives Section for reference purposes.
Content contributors are responsible for periodically reviewing and revalidating the information under their domain to ensure that outdated or expired content is not displayed. Where content is no longer required to be published, the concerned division/section shall inform the Web Information Manager for necessary archival or deletion action.
Each content component shall be accompanied by appropriate metadata, including source, date of publication, and validity date. In cases where the validity period is not explicitly defined and the content is intended to remain perpetual; a default validity period of ten (10) years shall be assigned.
For specific sections such as Announcements and Tenders, only active content with validity beyond the current date shall be displayed on the website. Other sections, including Documents, Schemes, Services, Forms, Websites, and Contact Directory, shall be reviewed periodically in accordance with the Content Review Policy to ensure accuracy and relevance.
